Biography
GLORIA LOUISE (GLENN) GIBSON, 63, died Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at Country Village-Genesis Elder Care Center, where she had been since Monday, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born June 4, 1946 in New Haven, CT a daughter of Thomas J and Florence I. (Briggs) Glenn, she has been a resident of Groveton since 1966 coming from New Haven.
Gloria was employed as a nurse’s aid at Country Village-Genesis Elder Care Center until December 31, 2008, when she became ill. She was a communicant of Groveton United Methodist Church.
Gloria is survived by her companion Joseph Smith of Groveton; son Michael Gibson and wife Charlene of Whitefield; three sisters Nancy Wilcox of North Haven, CT; Eleanor Thompson and Joann Glenn both of Meriden, CT.
She was predeceased by her husband Dennis Gibson, Sr. in 1978 and a son Dennis Gibson, Jr. in 1986.
Calling hours will be held at Armstrong-Charron Funeral Home in Groveton on Saturday, February 6 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. Funeral services will be held on Sunday at 1:00 pm at the Groveton United Methodist Church with Pastor Aaron Cox, officiating.
