Obituary

ADELENE "ADDIE" MAE (BEAN) FRIZZELL WAGNER , 88, of Whitefield, died peacefully on Friday, June 24, 2022, at The Morrison in Whitefield due to advanced dementia.

Addie was born on February 17, 1934, in Groveton, NH a daughter of the late Alcide A. and Alida M. (Nailer) Bean.

Addie lived in many places in the North Country and for a short time in upstate New York. When her first husband passed away, she was only 29 years old and had five children to bring up. She worked many jobs at one time to support her family, including taking care of children from all over the North Country. She would sit with elderly patients that needed overnight care. She ultimately went to college in her late thirties to obtain her Practical Nursing License. She worked in the Skilled Nursing Facility at Weeks Memorial Hospital for many years. She was also a floor nurse and a pharmacy technician at the hospital for thirty years.

Addie was always known for her "open door" policy at her Northumberland home. Many of the neighborhood children would stop in and raid her cookie jar, and she knew all the kids by their first names. She always greeted friends and strangers alike with a smile, and often, a hug. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her family and friends.

In her later years, as dementia started to take her away, she lived at Ice Pond Village in Lancaster and enjoyed her many friends there. Inevitably, the disease progressed quickly and Addie had to move from Ice Pond to Sartwell Place, a part of The Morrison Facility in Whitefield, and then ultimately to the Morrison Nursing Home. She received excellent care while there.

Five children survive Addie; Doug (Carol) Frizzell of Whitefield; Robert (Pam) Frizzell of Lancaster; Timothy (John) Frizzell of Greenville; Terri (Bill) Rutherford of Lunenburg, VT; and Lisa (Howard) Hart of Burnside, PA; eleven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one brother Robert Bean (Tammy McKearney) of Stratford, NH; many nieces and nephews.

Addie was predeceased by her first husband Albert "Judy" Orsamus Frizzell in 1963; her second husband Lawrence "Larry" Samuel Wagner in 1996; four children Melinda Ann; Donald Paul; Baby Girl and Neill Allen; two sisters Joan Boutin; and Marlene Breault; and one brother Alcide "Bud" Bean.
