AGNES CLARA "KIT" (DIDCOCK) LAKIN, 83, of Country Village-Genesis Elder Care Center, passed away peacefully Monday, April 28, 2008 at Country Village where she had been a resident since October of 2006. "Kit" was born on July 3, 1924 in London, England a daughter of Frederick Richard and Agnes Harriet (Daniel) Didcock. She was raised and schooled in England, met her husband Bill in a bomb shelter during WWII and they married then moved to Groveton one years after WWII ended. She was very proud to have received her citizenship and to be an American. "Kit" would tell her grandchildren, "Don't take being an American for granted." "Kit" was an avid reader, knitter and enjoyed crossword puzzles. Before retiring she worked for Diamond International as a paper tester in the fine paper lab. "Kit" is survived by her two daughters Rhonda A. Smith of North Stratford, NH and Jane Lacedonia of Simsbury, CT; two sons Terrence "Terry" Lakin of LaGrange, Kentucky and Derek Lakin of Hampton, NH; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren with several of them living in the Berlin area; two sisters Rose and Margarie both of London; one sister-in-law May Bacon of Groveton and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 54 years William "Bill" Joseph Lakin on June 24, 1995; one son William Frederick Lakin on March 17, 2003; four brothers and two sisters. Calling hours will be private. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 1, 2008 at 1:00 pm at the Armstrong-Charron Funeral Home in Groveton with Aaron Cox, acting pastor of the Groveton United Methodist Church officiating.
