ALBERT E. CLOUTIER "JOE" , 92 of Stark passed away at his home on May 2, 2017.
He was born on April 2, 1925 in St. Hermenegelde, Quebec the son of Napoleon and Ida (Demers) Cloutier.
On July 3, 1948 he married Simone Lanciaux. They made their home in New Hampshire in 1951. They raised their five children together in a very loving home.
In 1946 he came to the United States to be a blacksmith for the Brown Company. In 1952 he began his own logging business which he operated until 1988, at which time he semi-retired and helped his sons with their construction company.
He wintered for 26 years in Florida with his wife. He enjoyed camping with his RV; fishing and moose hunting. He enjoyed helping his children with their projects.
He was a member of many Civic organizations. In 1981 he was awarded Logger of the year by New Hampshire Timberland Owners Association.
He leaves behind his five children Johanne Kingston and husband Kevin of Lebanon; Norman Cloutier and wife Marlene of Columbia; Albert J. Cloutier and wife Darlene of Stark; Jeanne Gervais and husband Reno of Island Pond, VT and Linda Caron and husband Ron of Stark. Al leaves behind 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; three sisters Denise D'Amour; Irene Cloutier; and Anna Lanciaux and three brothers Henry Cloutier; Andre Cloutier and Paul Cloutier all of Quebec.
He was predeceased by his wife of 64 years, Simone (Lanciaux) Cloutier on March 7, 2014 and four sisters.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, May 7, 2017 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Armstrong-Charron Funeral Home in Groveton. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, May 8, 2017 at 11:00 am at the St. Francis Church in Groveton with Fr. Daniel Deveau, pastor officiating. Inurnment will be at the convenience of the family in the St, Francis Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Albert's name to a charity of one's choice.
