Alicia Mae Miller, 74, a resident of the Hillsboro community, passed away on May 7, 2019 at the OHSU Tuality Hospital in Hillsboro.

She was raised in the New Hampshire & Vermont area having attended Groveton High School graduating with the Class of 1963. In high school, her nickname was "Sunshine", she always had a smile and bright blonde hair, which she kept up always.
She met Eldon Middleton in 1963 at a high school dance and following a short courtship they married on May 21, 1964 in New Hampshire. They made their home on the east coast in and around the New England States. They moved to Oregon in 1978 and settled in Hillsboro. She also spent some time living in Florida before moving back to the West Coast. Eldon and Alicia divorced in 1990. Alicia then moved back to New Hampshire until her retirement in 2003, when she moved to New Mexico. In 2015, she moved to the Portland Area to be closer to her children.
Alicia was first and foremost a mother to her four children. She was always calm, patient and kind. She loved babies, animals and books, and inspired her love for reading in her children. Alicia was always at the library on the hunt for a new book. She also worked outside the home as a waitress at her husband's family restaurant "Hungry Jake's" in Barre, VT, as well as IHOP's in New England. Alicia enjoyed a job at Intel while living on the West Coast. She then trained to become a nurse's aide and retired as a CNA in New Hampshire in 2003. Her nursing patients loved her so much, she was often invited to their family events. She loved the small town lifestyle in New England. She took a part time job cleaning at the Ponderosa Cabins. Alicia enjoyed working and never wanted to stop moving. She enjoyed music and attending concerts. She was a lover of country music and line dancing. She was an avid collector of South Western Art and enjoyed decorating/dressing with these themes.
