ANN THERESA (McLAIN) BURKE, 81, of Groveton, died unexpectedly on May 7, 2026, at her apartment.

Ann was born on August 16, 1944, in Lancaster, NH the daughter of the late Charles McLain and Mary (Macintier) McLain Ball. She spent most of her life in the Lancaster and Groveton area.

Ann worked as a cook, waitress, and cashier over the years for establishments such as Quick Stop in Groveton, Lancaster Diner, and Dunkin' Donuts.

She was known for her strong spirit and honesty — a true “spitfire” who never hesitated to speak her mind.

Ann loved the outdoors, and enjoyed berry picking, fishing, and hunting.She especially cherished sharing those passions with her family, including teaching her grandson Nicholas how to hunt. She also had a deep love for the mountains and animals.

Ann is survived by her children Kevin Ball and wife Stephanie, Sherri Ball, and Shelley Millett and husband Steve all of Lancaster, two step-sons, Tony Burke and Pat Burke, six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, two brothers Wessley Ball and Doug Ball, and one sister, Clairece Ball all of Massachusetts.

Ann was predeceased by her husband Randy Burke, one son Brian Ball on December 7, 2025, and sister Carrie.

At Ann's request, there will be no calling hours or services. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of the Armstrong-Charron Funeral Home in Groveton.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Ann's name to the Riverside Animal Rescue, 236 Riverside Ave., Lunenburg, VT 05906.
