ARDIS B. (BANCROFT) HOMAC, 88, of Rich Street, Groveton, died peacefully Friday, September 7, 2007 at Week's Medical Center in Lancaster. Born April 19, 1919 in Madison, Wisconsin the daughter of John Albert and Ruby (Sheid) Bancroft, she was raised, attended school and worked in Wisconsin until moving to Hollywood, FL. She was a resident of Hollywood, FL for 26 years before moving to Groveton six years ago. Before retiring, Ardis worked as a Medical Technologist for the South Milwaukee Clinic. She was a member of the Groveton United Methodist Church. She loved to knit and crochet and would make approximately 50 sweaters, mittens and hats each year for family and charity. She was very active in the church, loved to travel, visit with family and friends. Ardis loved spending time with her grandchildren and watching them play sport and other activities. She was a very sweet person who will be missed by all. Ardis is survived by her daughter Gail Kim Alcantara and her husband Alex of Groveton, her four grandchildren Oliver Alcantara of New York City, NY; Exsala Alcantara; Zane Alcantara and Zoe Alcantara all of Groveton. She was predeceased by her husband John W. Homac October 21, 1985. Services will be held October 4, 2007 at 1:00 pm at the Groveton United Methodist Church with Pastor Sherry O'Bara officiating. Inurnment will follow in the Northumberland Cemetery.
