ARLENE E. "BUBBLES" MCFARLANE, 95, formerly of Groveton, died Wednesday, December 23, 2009 at Country Village-Genesis Elder Care Center in Lancaster, where she had been a resident since 1996. Born October 18, 1914 in Pittsburg, NH a daughter of Alfred and Matilda (Jackson) Crawford she lived most of her life in Groveton coming from Pittsburg. "Bubbles" was a hairdresser and owned Sisters Beauty Shop in Groveton. She was a past examiner for the NH Board of Cosmetology. She was a member of the St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Groveton and of the Eastern Star. "Bubbles" is survived by her daughter Carol Hodgkins and husband Eugene of Summerville, S.C.; one sister Beatrice Stewart of Winter Haven, FL; six grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband G. Douglas McFarlane; two daughters Nancy Moses, Judy Erickson Currier and one sister Pauline "Polly" Ververis. Memorial calling hours will be held on May 14,2010 from 11:00 am-1:00pm at the Armstrong-Charron Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at the St. Marks Episcapol Church in Groveton.
