AVIS MARYLIN (BARBER) BAILEY, 93, formerly of Groveton, NH died peacefully at Country-Village Genesis Elder Care Center in Lancaster, NH where she has been a resident since 2018.

Avis was born on September 11, 1930, in Newport, Vermont, the daughter of the late Bernard and Shirley (Scott) Barber.
Avis was a homemaker and bookkeeper assisting her husband Everett's garage and construction businesses.
She enjoyed doing puzzles, refinishing furniture, working in the garden, mowing her lawn, cooking meals, researching genealogy, and enjoying her cats.
Avis is survived by her three sons Jack Barber and wife Marie of Fredericksburg, VA; Wayne Leno and wife Barbara of Aberdeen, MD; and John Leno and wife Kathy of Dalton, NH; two stepsons Everett Bailey Jr. and wife Diane of West Winfield, NY; and David Bailey of Burlington, VT; one step-daughter-in-law Lori Bailey and Rod Swift of Groveton. She is also survived by sisters-in-law Marjorie Anderson of Culpeper, VA, and Corrine Bailey of Glover, VT, and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Avis was predeceased by her husband Everett Bailey, Sr. on January 21, 2010, two brothers Dean Barber and Keneth Barber, stepdaughter Betty Bailey, stepson Alan Bailey, and brothers-in-law Clair and Phillip Bailey and Irving Anderson.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 9, 2024, at 1:00 pm at the Armstrong-Charron Funeral Home in Groveton, with Pastor Eungil Cho of the Groveton United Methodist Church officiating. A burial will follow in the Ridgewell Cemetery in Guildhall.
