BECKY JEAN MERROW, ESQ., 54, of Colebrook, passed away on Monday, December 18, 2023, in Andover, MA while visiting her dear friend.

Becky was born on February 23, 1969, in Lancaster, NH, a daughter of Charles J. and Lorraine E. Merrow.

Becky passed on being a very loving, accomplished, and courageous woman. She was a graduate of Groveton High School, Class of 1987, and was a member of the National Honor Society. As a young woman, Becky raised two sons Raymond and Brandon. Additionally, she has one beloved granddaughter, Maggie.

During this time she was elected Town Clerk for the Town of Northumberland. Subsequently, she was the Town Administrator for the town of Lancaster; and Town Manager for the towns of Colebrook, Grantham, and Wolfeboro. While working in Groveton, she earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Paralegal Studies from Champlain College and read the law (clerked) in Vermont. After the four-year apprenticeship, she passed the Vermont Bar Examination and was sworn in as a member of the Vermont Bar Association in June 2009. She has been a member since. Becky was currently working as an Attorney and a licensed insurance broker in NH.

Becky enjoyed going to concerts of all kinds, kayaking, hiking, and traveling. She particularly loved seeing her friends of all ages and being with Maggie.

Becky is survived by her mother Lorraine Merrow of Lancaster; two sisters Wendy Merrow and David Paige of Lisbon; Holly Merrow and Ricky Lauzon of Groveton; one granddaughter Maggie Newton; her dear friend Frederick Lauten of Andover, MA; Brian Newton of Groveton; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was predeceased by her father Charles J. Merrow on 2-4-07; one brother Charles WV Merrow on 5-30-20; her two beloved sons Brandon Newton on 7-2-07; and Raymond Newton on 2-14-21; and one niece Camille Merrow on 5-20-20.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, January 5, 2024, from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the Armstrong-Charron Funeral Home in Groveton with a gathering at the Groveton American Legion.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2024, at 11:00 am at the St. Francis Xavier Church in Groveton, with Fr. Daniel Deveau officiating. Burial will follow in the Northumberland Cemetery.
