Bethany "Betty" Rilma Gould, 93 of 40 Stratford Road, Groveton, NH passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at Weeks Memorial Hospital after a brief illness with her family at her side.  Betty was predeceased by her husband and love of her life of 60 years, Jay J Gould in 2006.

Born on December 25, 1922 in Stratford, NH a daughter of Rilma and Harry Maguire, Betty was a lifelong resident of Groveton and lived in her home up to the time of her passing.  Betty was a graduate of Groveton High School class of 1940.   She worked in the Groveton Paper Mill and Styles Drug Store for many years before becoming a housewife and mother.  She was a partner with her husband Jay in several businesses (Dunkin Donuts, Gould Construction, JJ's Snack Bar, Development of Northumberland Shopping Center, Riverside Speedway, and Dean Brook Trailer Park).  Betty enjoyed spending time with her children, 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She was known as Gram-Gram by her great grandchildren.  Holidays were always a special gathering.   She also enjoyed discussing details of family events from her childhood to the present.  Her favorite hobbies were dancing, cooking, knitting, crocheting and listening to Big Band music.

Betty is survived by her children Janice Gould and family of Norfolk, Virginia; Wanda and Dan Dupuis and family of Ocean City, Maryland; Melanie and Steve McMann and family of Groveton, NH; Joya and Randy Beaton and family of Stark, NH; and children of the late Gail Gould - Kyle and Ashley Young and family of Alabama and Bridget and Brad Cornwell and family of Maryland.

Betty is also survived by her sisters, Belva King, Barbara Hubert and Gloria Nugent, and her brothers Dean and Jim Maguire and several nieces and nephews.  She is predeceased by her daughter Gail and son Eric both in 2002; brothers, Mick, John and Gary Maguire.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, May 1, 2016 from 5-8 pm at the Armstrong-Charron Funeral Home in Groveton, NH.  Funeral Service will be held Monday, May 2, 2016 at the Groveton United Methodist Church at 10:00 a.m.  Burial will follow in the Northumberland Cemetery.
