Obituary

BLANCHE EVELYN (CHEEVER) SCOTT, (Mom, Nana, Nan) 87, of North Stratford, joined her beloved husband of 66 years in heaven, Ronald Scott Sr., on Monday, November 15, 2021. Her brief illness was made easier through the loving care and support of her children, their spouses and grandchildren.

Blanche was one of 11 children, born to the late Edward and Margaret (Madden) Cheever on May 7, 1934. She has been a resident of North Stratford since 1986 coming from Rockland, MA.

In addition to her primary job of being "the best Mom in the Universe," Blanche worked as a Waitress, Crossing Guard, and the Shoe Department Manager for Ames Department Store before retiring. In 1987, she and Ron opted to pursue their dream of owning a campground and started Scott's Big Rock Campground, which they owned until 2003. They also founded and operated Scott's RV Service. In both ventures, they provided honest service and developed long-lasting friendships with their customers.

She always made time to participate in her children's activities and found time for volunteer activities, such as teaching Catechism and volunteering at the schools. Her grandchildren were the light of her life and she was their best friend and confidant. Blanche was always there for her family, to provide advice, a shoulder to cry on or a hug. She had a huge sense of humor, loved a good joke and always had a timely sassy response. She loved spending time with her family, camping, and was known for making special candies for holidays and wedding cakes, and made many for her children and grandchildren.

Blanche is survived by her loving children Ronald Scott. Jr, and his partner, Beth MacDonald; David Scott and wife Alyssa all of North Stratford, NH; Blanche Rogers and husband Scott of Dover, NH; Noreen Ross and husband Stephen of West Bridgewater, MA; Robert Scott and wife Robin of North Stratford, NH; Sharon Connary and husband Ronnie of Weare, NH; and Kathleen Covell and husband Dwayne of Stewartstown, NH. Blanche & Ron were blessed with eighteen amazing grandchildren and sixteen beautiful great-grandchildren. Blanche is also survived by her siblings: Johanna McCafferty, Mary Kearns, Edward Cheever, and Dorothy Fagan, as well as numerous nieces and nephews who she loved very much.

In addition to her husband Ronald, Blanche is predeceased by her granddaughter Ashley Morrison and six of her siblings James Cheever; John Cheever; Thomas "Tim" Cheever; Catherine Litchfield; Marion Gillis; and Margaret Julius.
