BRIAN CHARLES BALL, 61, of Lunenburg, VT, passed away suddenly at the Portsmouth Regional Hospital on Sunday, December 7, 2025, with his family by his side.
Brian was born on July 14, 1964, in Lancaster, NH, and lived most of his life in Lunenburg, VT.
At the age of 16, he worked for the family gas station for several years. In November of 1990, Brian and his wife Sylvia, bought the family SUNOCO Gas station. He worked for North Country Ford Towing when they were in a bind. He loved it so much that he decided to invest in his own tow-trucks, where he had a very successful towing company. In 2005, he decided to downsize and moved to his shop on Summer Street, where he did mostly tires, oil changes, brakes, and state inspections. He also helped Sylvia out at the restaurant as a short-order cook when he had nothing scheduled at the shop.
Brian loved his Chevelles, listening to music, he was a huge Miranda Lambert fan, and he loved watching Gunsmoke and eating his Humpty Dumpty BBQ chips.
Brian is survived by his wife of 40 years, Sylvia Ball of Lunenburg, VT, his son Jason Ball of Fairlee, VT, his mother Ann Burke of Groveton, NH, Brother Kevin Ball (Stephanie); two sisters, Sherri Ball and Shelley Millett (Steve), all of Lancaster, NH, and one uncle Wessley Ball of Boscawen, NH. He is also survived by his step-mother Ada Ball of Whitefield, NH, and step-siblings Cheryl Wells of Whitefield, NH, Brian Shedd ( Diane) of Alexandria, NH, Rose Hand (Dean) of Colebrook, NH, Barbara Trites (John) of Allenstown, NH, Reginald Shedd (Afra) of Salem, OR, and Charlette Rice (Dave) of Hill, NH, and many nieces and nephews.
Brian was predeceased by his father, Bradley Ball; his aunt Ruby Corliss; his stepfather, step-father Randy Burke, step-sister Sharon Shedd; his parents-in-law, Margaret and “Bucky” Gonyer; and two brothers-in-law, Ken Gulik and Jim McGoff.
At Brian's request, there will be no calling hours. A Graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at 11:00 am in the Emerson Road Cemetery in Stark, with Pastor Eungil Cho of the Groveton and Stark Methodist Churches officiating.
