BRUCE THOMAS "BJ" PROSPER, JR., 51, of Bloomfield, VT, died on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at his home, of natural causes.
BJ was born on October 22, 1972, in Lancaster, NH the son of Esther Scott and Bruce T. Prosper, Sr. He attended Stratford Public School and was the pride of the Stratford Lions, playing basketball throughout his school years. He continued his schooling through the local Vo-Tech.
BJ has touched numerous lives over the years and always had a listening ear for friends and family and friends who became family. The light of his love and genuine caring for people radiated throughout his community and beyond. One of his greatest accomplishments was being a proud Uncle to Jessa, Jared, and Jax, His love for his family and friends was immeasurable.
One of BJ's favorite places was "the church" where he gathered with his friends and family to share his love of music, particularly heavy metal. His lifelong love for music brought his tribe "The Blasphemers" together.
BJ is survived by his mother Esther Scott; niece Jessa Bedard and fiancé Kyle Morin; nephews Jared Elliott and Jaxson Bedard all of Bloomfield; his father Bruce T. Prosper, Sr. and stepmother Claire Prosper; his siblings; Bri Lind; Angela Patten; Brian; and Ryan; along with Steve Dowse; Jeffery Richards; and Jeffrey "Juice" McMann; many aunts and uncles; nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews; and several cousins.
BJ was predeceased by his brothers Todd Prosper and Adam Bedard; maternal grandparents Dean and Louella Scott; his paternal grandparents Rose and Edwin "Walter" Prosper; Aunt Sherry Dowse; Uncle Dean Jr.; Uncle Ernie; and Aunt and Uncle Shawna and Keith Fellows.
The family of BJ wishes to extend our sincere thanks to everyone who knew and loved him.
A private family-only service will be held later in October and a Celebration of Life for BJ, Adam, and Nichole will be held at the family's convenience in the spring/summer of 2025. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of the Armstrong-Charron Funeral Home in Groveton.
