CARLENE JUNE "MA" SIMPSON, 69, of Stratford Rd.; Groveton, died peacefully on October 27, 2015 at the Mayo Regional Hospital in Dover-Foxcroft, ME with her family by her side. Born in Lancaster, NH on October 17, 1946 a daughter of William and Edith (Bacon) Egan she was a lifelong resident of the Stratford and Groveton area. She was a graduate of the Stratford Public School, class of 1964. Carlene was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post # 17 of Groveton and was the secretary and bookkeeper for many years. She worked as a bookkeeper for Groveton Papers from the mid 1960's until the late 1970's; she was a bartender for many years at the American Legion and Moose Club and bookkeeper for the Brook View Trailer Park. "Ma" enjoyed crocheting; horse pulling and spending time with her family and friends. She is survived by her four children; Ann Beland and husband Mike of Milo, ME; Dale Simpson and wife Laura of Spring Hill, FL; Joshua Simpson and significant other Jill Normand of Groveton; and Eric Simpson of North Stratford; seven grandchildren; two step- grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; her brother Richard Egan of North Stratford; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, November 1, 2015 from 5 - 8 pm at the Armstrong-Charron Funeral Home in Groveton. Graveside service will be held on Monday, November 2, 2015 at 1:00 pm in the Center Cemetery in Stratford.
