CHRISTOPHER WEBER "HELMSY" HELMS, 22, of Cottage Street Groveton died unexpectedly at his residence on Thursday, November 17, 2016.

Chris was born on August 25, 1994 in Lancaster, NH and has been a lifelong resident of Groveton where he was raised by his Uncle Donald and Aunt Norma Hand.  He was a 2013 graduate of Groveton High School where he was an avid Soccer, Baseball and Basketball player throughout his junior high and high school years.  After graduating he began playing adult softball.

"Helmsy" loved hunting especially at his aunt and uncle's camp in New York. He loved hanging out with family and friends and especially his nephew Konner.

He was employed as a foreman for Asplundh for the past couple of years.

"Helmsy" is survived by his girlfriend Kristina Waterman of Groveton/Belmont; his Uncle Donald and Aunt Norma Hand of Groveton; his brothers Daniel Hand and Randy Hand both of Groveton; Michael Helms of Lyndonville, VT; Brian Helms of California; and Jeffery Helms of Lyndonville, VT; his grandmother Gwen Hall of Groveton; nieces and nephews and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

"Helmsy" was predeceased by his father Wayne Helms; his paternal grandmother Barbara Helms and grandfather Herbert Hall.

There will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be held at the Groveton High School Gymnasium in Groveton on Saturday, November 26, 2016 at 1:00 pm with Fr. Timothy Brooks of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Lancaster officiating.  Burial will be in the Emerson Road Cemetery in Stark.
