CLEMENT E. "CLEM" KNOWLTON, 97 years old, formerly of Groveton and North Stratford, NH passed away on December 10, 2016 at the Genesis Health Center in Keene, NH.

He was born in Magog, Quebec on November 9, 1919 to Orrin and Marion (Sullivan) Knowlton and lived much of his life in Groveton.

Clement attended school in Groveton and graduated in 1937.

During WWII Clement served his country in the United States Navy on board the aircraft carrier USS Essex.

After his Naval experiences "Clem" returned to Groveton working at the Groveton Paper Company for 30 years. He also spent many years at Tillotson Rubber Company and the Balsam Hotel in Dixville. He also spent years operating his own consulting business.

On July 31, 1941 in North Stratford he married Eva Frizzell, his wonderful wife of 71. Eva passed away on December 23, 2012. "Clem" is survived by his three sons; Arnold and his wife Lorraine of Westminster, VT; Roger and his wife Sandi of Mesa, Arizona and Stephen and his wife Nancy of Jerome, Arizona as well as numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren and even great-great-grandchildren.

At the request of his sons there will be no formal services at this time.  Arrangements are entrusted to the care of the Armstrong-Charron Funeral Home in Groveton, NH.
