Obituary

CLYDE EDWARD PLATT, 81, of Brooklyn St., Groveton died peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on Friday, December 25, 2020.

Clyde was born on August 10, 1939, in Lancaster, NH a son of the late James and Leona (Trecarten) Platt and has been a resident of Groveton his whole life.

Clyde was a graduate of the Groveton High School, class of 1958. After high school, he enlisted into the US Army and served during the Korean War.

When Clyde returned home, he worked for several years for the State Highway Department; James River Corp and retired from there in 1998; then for SAU58 as a janitor for a few years.

Clyde was an avid sports fan and loved to watch his children and grandchildren play all sports. He loved collecting yearbooks. Clyde was one of the most friendliest and nicest people ever known and he loved to visit with family, friends, and strangers. He touched everyone he met in a special way and will be deeply missed by all.

Clyde is survived by his loving wife of 52 years Dolores (Audit) Platt of Groveton; their children Marcel Platt of Groveton; Angelina Desilets and husband Ron of Groveton; Robert "Bobby" Platt and wife Terrill of Gorham; Katrina Noyes and husband Jeremy of Groveton; Patrick Platt and wife Heidi of Groveton and Jonathan Platt and wife Wendy of New Jersey; thirteen grandchildren; one great-grandchild; three siblings James Platt of Whitefield; Wanda Fontaine of Groveton; and Judy Rock of Whitefield; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Due to COVID-19 services will be in the spring. Memorial calling hours will be held on Friday, May 7, 2021, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at the Armstrong-Charron Funeral Home in Groveton. Mass of Christian Burial will be said at 12:30 pm at the St. Francis Xavier Church in Groveton, with Fr. Daniel Deveau, pastor officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Groveton Youth Baseball; C/O Passumpsic Bank; 40 State St.; Groveton, NH 03582.
