DAVID STUART HODGE, 75, of Maidstone Lake, died very peacefully on December 22, 2021, in his sleep with his loving wife by his side.
David was born in Lancaster, NH on July 31, 1946, he was one of four boys born to J. "Jack" Harold and Cathryn Eunice Hodge. He was raised and lived in Northumberland until moving to Maidstone twenty-five plus years ago. He is the third generation to live in the home in Maidstone.
David was a graduate of Groveton High School class of 1964 and then proudly served his country in the US Navy as a SEABEE from 1964 to 1966. After returning home from the military, he worked for 40 years as a rigger at Diamond International/James River/Wausau Papers until retirement.
David was a cancer survivor; loved fishing; tinkering; fabricating and was the "go-to guy" when you needed help with anything and everything. He was always helping others, no matter what time of day or night. He was a member of the American Legion, Post #17 in Groveton, and was a House Committee member for many years; he also served as Selectman for the Town of Maidstone.
David is survived by his loving wife of 53 years Elaine (Young) Hodge of Maidstone; two sons Tim Hodge and wife Heather of St. Augustine, FL and Michael Hodge and wife Sarah of Waterford, VT; seven grandchildren Tyler; Devan; Chloe; Kyle; Isaac; Nicholas; and Cathryn. He is also survived by his three brothers Bruce and wife Becky of Egan, MN; Robert and Ann Ryan of Maidstone, VT; and, Ronald and wife Stacy of Marco Island, FL; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

There will be no services at this time. A celebration of life will be held at the convenience of the family this summer at Maidstone Lake. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of the Armstrong-Charron Funeral Home in Groveton.
