DAVID BOAKE MILES, 85, of Hillside Ave., Groveton, died unexpectedly at his home on Friday, May 7, 2021.

David was born on September 24, 1935 in Lancaster, NH the son of Henry and Carrie (Capen) Miles and was a lifelong resident of Groveton.

He was a graduate of Groveton High School, class of 1953. Before retiring he worked as a back-tender for Wausau papers.

David enjoyed playing cribbage; doing crossword puzzles; reading and sports of all kinds. He was a big Yankees fan.

He was a member of the Groveton United Methodist Church.

David is survived by his three children David H. Miles and wife Tibby of Merrimack, NH; Kathy St. Onge and husband Mike of Groveton; and Mark Miles and wife Kim of North East, PA; nine grandchildren Casey Dowland; Derek Miles; Devin Miles; Nathan "Brooker" Perry; Taylor Miles; Marie Miles; Rosie Miles; John Miles; and Julianna Miles; six Great-grandchildren Sophia; Nolan; Kyle; Ava; Cooper; and Nash and his cat/best friend Salty.

David is predeceased by his parents; his wife of 62 years Shirley (Harris) Miles on August 4, 2016; granddaughter Christie St. Onge on January 11, 2005.

Calling hour will be held on Thursday, May 13, 2021, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm at the Armstrong-Charron Funeral Home; 100 State St.; Groveton. Funeral service will be held May 13, 2021, at 1:03pm, at the Groveton United Methodist Church with Pastor Patricia Williams officiating. Burial of cremains will be on Friday, May 14, 2021, at 2:00 pm in the Northumberland Cemetery.
