DAVID ERNEST "DAVE" WOODWARD, 75, of Rich Street died peacefully, Tuesday, March 21, 2006 at Week's Medical Center, Lancaster after a lengthy illness, surrounded by his family. Born at home in Groveton, NH on January 21, 1931 a son of Walter and Rose (Gaudette) Woodward, he was a lifelong resident of Groveton. He was a graduate of Groveton High School, class of 1949. He served in the United States Navy serving during the Korean Conflict. Dave was a member of the St. Francis Xavier Church. He owned the S & W Market. He was a member of the American Legion Post # 17 and the VFW post # 6808, Groveton. Dave enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time at Nash Stream Camp. He was an avid Yankees fan, enjoyed playing cards, especially poker and spending time with his family. A beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend he will be missed by all whom knew him. Dave is survived by his daughter Debbie and Eugene Montgomery; son Rick and Teri Woodward all of Groveton; son Alan and Becky Woodward of Berlin; his grandchildren Erin Montgomery of Berlin; Heather Montgomery of Rye, NH; Teasha Montgomery of Groveton; Haley and Corey St. Cyr of Whitefield; Ashley Woodward and Allison Woodward both of Groveton; and Kyra Woodward of Berlin and one great grandson Jordan Montgomery of Berlin. He is also survived by his brother Robert and Pat Woodward of Wyoming; sisters Bethany "Betty" Woodward of Littleton; Shirley and Dean Warren of Rochester, NH; and Barbara Dupuis and Doris Woodward both of Florida along with numerous nieces and nephews. Dave was predeceased by his parents; his wife "Mona" on July 19, 2000; son Corey Woodward March 9, 2006; sister Eleanor, and brothers Elvin "Bud"; Lawrence "Bud"; Neal and Roland. Calling hours will be held on Thursday March 23rd from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Armstrong-Charron Funeral Home; 100 State Street; Groveton. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday March 24th at 11:00 AM at the St. Francis Xavier Church; 11 State Street; Groveton with Fr. Daniel Deveau, pastor officiating. Burial will be in the spring in the Northumberland Cemetery.
