DEANE EVERETT MAGUIRE, 96, of Stratford and Fall River, MA, died peacefully on February 23, 2026, in Fall River, MA.

Deane was the fifth child of nine born to the late Harry L. and Rilma E. (Prince) McGuire on June 14, 1929, in Groveton, NH. Deane grew up in Groveton and served his country in the US Army during the Korean War from 1949 to 1952. After returning from the military, Deane lived in the Lancaster, Groveton, and Stratford areas.

Deane worked for Hasbro Toy Co. for several years. He loved hunting and even made his yearly trip to New York this past fall. He loved fishing and spent a week in Canada every summer, and he also loved snow-machining and would spend the month of February riding with his nephew Dennis.

Deane was a life-member of the American Legion, post #17 in Groveton, and a member of the VFW.

Deane is survived by his six children Cynthia Wright and husband Allan of Groveton, Linda Maguire and husband Daniel Roy of Alton, NH, Sandra MacKillop and Stanley Skinner of Whitefield, Diana Maguire of MA, Dean Maguire and Harry Maguire both of NY, his partner of 45 years, Kathy Lysyj of Fall River, MA, 13 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 12 great-great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was predeceased by his eight siblings and one grandson, Michael MacKillop.

A Graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at 11:00 am in the Center Cemetery in Stratford. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of the Armstrong-Charron Funeral Home in Groveton.
