DELFORD "BILL" C. TISDALE, 87, formerly of Groveton, died peacefully on Thursday May 28, 2009, at of Country Village-Genesis Elder Care Center, were he has been a resident since 2005. Born in Glensutton, Canada a son of Frank and Ruth (Bell) Tisdale he was raised in Rochester, NH and lived most of his life in Groveton. Bill was a U.S. Army Veteran serving his country during WWII. Before retiring in 1983 Bill worked as an oiler for Groveton Papers. Bill enjoyed hunting, fishing, and driving around. He is survived by his daughter Bonnie Gilchrist and husband Dave of Lewiston, ME; son Cecile Tisdale and wife Gert of Groveton; seven grandchildren and eight grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents; his wife Rita on August 10, 1990; daughter Karen Fysh on Sept. 27, 2003 and a son William Tisdale in 1972. Calling hours will be held on Friday May 29, 2009 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at the Armstrong-Charron Funeral Home in Groveton. Funeral services will be on Saturday May 30, 2009 at 1:30 pm at the funeral home, with Fr. Brendan Whittaker, retired pastor of St. Mark's Episcopal Church, officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in the Maple Street Cemetery in Bethlehem, NH.
