DENNIS JOSEPH LANGLEY, 69, of Dean Brook Road, Northumberland, died unexpectedly Saturday, January 5, 2013 after a very sudden illness. Dennis was born on February 17, 1943 in Lancaster, NH to George Andrew "Pop" Langley, Jr. and Eleanor May (Blay) Langley. Dennis graduated from Groveton High School in 1961 excelling in basketball and baseball. In 1959 he was the first high school athlete in the State of New Hampshire to achieve a perfect 30 out of 30 in the foul shooting contest at UNH. He attended Lyndon State College. Dennis was employed by the New Hampshire State Liquor Store for many years. He was a basketball referee for 25 years. His love for the Boston Red Sox and Boston Celtics was surpassed only by his love for his family. He is survived by his two daughters Carla Vaughan of Twin Mountain and Stephanie Langley of Mass.; two granddaughters Ashley Vaughan and Jessica Vaughan of Twin Mountain; one sister Carol Lavigne of Lancaster, NH; cousins, nephews, aunts and uncles. Dennis was predeceased by his father George "Pop" in 2004; his brother Andy in 2007 and his mother Eleanor in 2009. Calling hour will be on Saturday, January 12, 2013 from 1 - 2 pm at the Armstrong-Charron Funeral Home in Groveton. Funeral Service will be at 2:30 pm at the Groveton United Methodist Church with Pastor Aaron Cox officiating. Burial will be in the spring in the Northumberland Cemetery.
