Obituary

DONALD "DONNIE" ARSENAULT, 69, of Cloutier Drive, died unexpectedly on April 2, 2006 at his home in Ridge Manor, FL. Born on October 24, 1936 in Bath, NH a son of Darrell "Mutt" and Mary ( Lambert) Arsenault, Donnie was a lifelong resident of the Groveton/Stark area. He was a graduate of Groveton High School class of 1955 Donnie was a veteran of the United States Navy, where he proudly served on the U.S.S. Forestall. After serving his country, he worked for New England Telephone Company and retired in 1995 after 35 years. Donnie was a member of the St. Francis Xavier Church, the V.F.W., post # 6808; American Legion Post # 17; the Knights of Columbus # 2339. He was a past member of and instrumental in starting the Groveton Ambulance Corp.; and was a past member of the Groveton Trailblazers. He was an avid bowler and bowled on a bowling league for many years. He also enjoyed watching the wildlife and hunting and loved to read. Donnie is survived by his wife of 45 years June (Wright) Arsenault of Stark and Ridge Manor, Fl.; his mother Mary (Lambert) Arsenault of Groveton; daughters Donna (Bill) Brown of Gilman, VT; Rhonda (AJ) Caron of Alexandria and Tonia Stone and Jay Desrochers of Dalton; his sister Janet Carpenter of Manchester, CT; brother-in-law Dick (Shirley) Wright of Ossipee, NH; loving grandchildren Abbey and Amanda Frizzell; Cohen Stone and Savannah Caron and his trusted friend Higgins. Donnie is predeceased by his father Darrell "Mutt" Arsenault on July 27, 1991 and a granddaughter Cheyenne Caron on February 2, 1994. Even in death Donnie helped others as an organ donor. He will be missed immensely by all who knew him. A memorial calling hour will be held on Saturday, April 29th from 10 - 11 am at the Armstrong-Charron Funeral Home; 100 State Street; Groveton, with a memorial service being held at the funeral home at 11:00 am with Fr. Daniel Deveau, pastor of St. Francis Xavier Church officiating. Burial will follow in the Northumberland Cemetery with Military Honors. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to be made to the Groveton Ambulance Corp. Equipment Fund; C/O Sandra Mason; 7 Arlington Avenue; Groveton, NH 03582.
