Obituary

DORIS FRANCES (LARTON) POTTER, 90, of Deerfield, NH and formerly of Lancaster, NH died at her home in Deerfield on Saturday, February 29, 2020.
Doris was born on June 19, 1929, in Lynn, MA the daughter of Walter Henry and Edith Doris (Sweeny) Larton. They moved to Lancashire, England when Doris was one year old. She graduated from St. Bernadine's Catholic School and then move back to the U.S. at the age of 21. Doris lived in Lancaster, NH until moving to her daughter's in Whitefield in 2004 then to Deerfield in 2014.
Before retiring in 1990, Doris worked as a machine operator for Campbell Envelope Company for 40 years.
She was a professional mother and grandmother; well known for her homemade pastries and donuts. She enjoyed crocheting and making ceramics. She will always be remembered for her feistiness and her British accent.
Doris is survived by six children; Leonard Potter and wife Deborah and Leona McKearney and husband Arthur all of Stratford, NH; Debra Couture-Doolan and husband Michael of Deerfield, NH; Linda Lloyd and husband Ricky of Ashboro, NC; John Smith of Whitefield, NH; and David Brochu of Thorassa, FL; thirty-four grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; one sister Bernadette Dionne of Naugatuck, CT, and two daughter-in-laws Muriel Potter of Wilsons Mills, ME and Lorraine Potter of Stratford, NH, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her father Walter H. Larton; mother Edith Bernadette Cote; husband Linwood Potter, Sr.; four sons Linwood Potter, Jr.; Leroy Potter and wife "Nannie"; Michael Potter; and Rainey Allin and wife Sharelle; and three brothers Alvin Larton; Norman Larton; and Jackie Larton.
Memorial calling hours will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2020, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Armstrong-Charron Funeral Home; 100 State St.; Groveton, NH. Funeral service will follow immediately after at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Doris' name to either the Child Advocacy Center of Coos County; 3 State St.; Groveton, NH 03582 or the Riverside Rescue, Inc.; 236 Riverside Rd.; Lunenburg, VT 05906.
