DOROTHY "DOT" ELLEN (GARLAND) ALLEN,74, of Wooddale Road, North Stratford, died peacefully May 15, 2006 at Upper Connecticut Valley Hospital in Colebrook after a brief illness, with her family by her side. Born July 9, 1931 in West Charleston, Vermont a daughter of Seth and Mable garland, she has been a resident of the Stratford area for over 45 years, coming from Island Pond, Vermont. Before retiring she worked for 14 years at Stratford Plywood and 25 years at Tilotson's Rubber. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Church, North Stratford. Dot enjoyed visiting with her neighbors and being a good neighbor and always thought of others before herself. She also enjoyed flowers. Dot is survived by her daughter-in-law Nancy (Pierce) Morissette of Conway, NH; granddaughter Heather & husband Marlin Baldwin of Newport, NH and their children, Damien, Daniel and Anastasia "Asia"; her grandson Staff Sergeant Tyron Morissette of Camp Lejeune, NC and his children Drue, Brody and Alexis; her brother Ormond & wife Betty Garland of Orleans; sisters Ann & husband Jackson Allen of West Charleston, VT and Althea Smith of San Diego, CA; along with her nieces Myra & husband Bob Curless and Myra McCormick all of Stratford, NH and few other nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; first husband Oscar Morissette; second husband Aubrey Allen; infant son Joseph; son Donald in 2006 and a brother Seth Garland. At Dot's request there will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be held on June 17th at 1:00 PM in the Lakeside Cemetery in Island Pond, VT with Fr. Daniel Deveau pastor of the Sacred Heart Church in Stratford, officiating. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of the Armstrong-Charron Funeral Home; Groveton.
