DOROTHY VELMA (BEESLEY) McCORD, 81, formerly of Groveton, died Sunday, September 12, 2010 at Country Village-Genesis Elder Care Center in Lancaster where she has been a resident for the past two years. Born June 27, 1929 in Burt, North Dakota, a daughter of Frank "Francis" and Nellie (Bhar) Beesley, she had been a resident of Groveton for about twenty years coming from Independence, Kansas. Dot was a graduate from Lemon Dakota High School. Before retiring she worked for twenty-five years as a laundry clerk for Big Sky Linen Supply in Billings, MO. She was a member of the Faith Tabernacle United Pentecostal Church in Groveton. She is survived by her son Rev. Paul Beesley of Groveton; two granddaughters Sharon Beesley and Rebecca Beesley and one brother Harold Beesley of Leroy, Illinois. She was predeceased by her husband James McCord on Dec. 17, 1992; a sister Ruth Gill and two brothers Julius Beesley and Jim Beesley. Calling hours will be held on Friday, September 17 from 10 - 11am at the Armstrong-Charron Funeral Home with services following at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Northumberland Cemetery.
