DOROTHY ADA (DEERING) STEVENS, 69, died peacefully Saturday, June 9, 2012 at Country Village-Genesis Elder Care Center in Lancaster after a lengthy illness. Born on March 16, 1943 in Lancaster, NH a daughter of Richard and Maryrose (Breault) Deering, she lived in Groveton until moving to Lancaster in September of 2000. Dorothy was a graduate of Groveton High School, class of 1961, and then went on to graduate from Houle's Beauty Academy in 1963. Before retiring she worked as a private caregiver. Dot's hobbies included painting; gardening; and arranging silk flowers. She was a very active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Randolph, NH. She served a two year mission for the church at the Washington Temple in Washington, DC. Dot is survived by her son Brian Stevens of Groveton; daughter Sheryl and Tim Page of Guilford, CT; mother Maryrose Deering of Whitefield, NH six grandchildren Tara and husband Adam; Tiffanie; Torrie; Dannika; Brianne and Rylee and two great grandchildren Keira and Logan; several aunts, uncles and cousins. Calling hour will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Randolph from 10- 11 am on Tuesday, June 12, 2012 with the funeral service following at the church with President Scott Robinson officiating. Burial will be held at 2:00 pm in the Ridgewell Cemetery in Guildhall, VT.
