DUNCAN THAYER CULLMAN, 77, of Groveton, died peacefully on Friday, May 2, 2025, at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, after a lengthy battle with cancer.
Duncan was born in Foxborough, MA, on October 3, 1947, the son of the late Lewis and Thias (McBride) Cullman. He was raised in Littleton, NH, where he graduated from Littleton Regional High School in 1966. He lived in Littleton until moving to Groveton about three years ago.
Duncan won the Junior National Championships in Oregon in 1965, swept the eastern events in Vermont in 1966, and skied for the US Team in 1967. He loved skiing and became a Ski Instructor at Jay Peak Resort. He was known as the "Infernomeister" in skiing. Duncan was a professional ski racer and ski coach. He also loved tennis and reading. He was the author of five books.
Duncan was a loving husband and wonderful father. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Duncan is survived by his wife of three years, Susan (Bradshaw) Cullman of Groveton, two children, Nikken Cullman of Maryland, and Mia Cullman of Colorado, two grandchildren, his step-son Ian Bradshaw, his step-mother Louisa Hirschfeld, and "brother" Graham Groves.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, May 15, 2025, at 1:00 pm in the Northumberland Cemetery in Groveton, with Fr. Daniel Deveau, pastor of the St. Marguerite d'Youville Parish officiating. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of the Armstrong-Charron Funeral Home in Groveton.
