EDITH E. (FISK) McLAIN, 83 of Lancaster Road in Groveton died peacefully in her sleep, with her family by her side, Saturday, March 20, 2010 at Weeks Medical Center in Lancaster after a lengthy illness. Born August 26, 1926 in Groveton, NH a daughter of Wendell and Pearl (Gale) Fisk she was a lifelong resident of Groveton. Before retiring she worked as a machine operator for the Gilman Paper Company. Edith was a member of the Groveton United Methodist Church. She enjoyed flowers, jewelry, putting puzzles together, playing computer games, and cards. She also enjoyed watching her soap operas and cooking. She is survived by her husband of 60 years Chesley McLain of Groveton, four children Wayne McLain of Groveton; Deborah MacLean and husband David of Columbia, NH; Cheryl Thompson and husband Calvin of Dalton; Dennis McLain of Groveton and friend Denise Lavoie of Maidstone, VT; two step-children Joyce Bouchard of Groveton and Larry McLain of Maidstone; eight grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren and three great grandchildren; along with one brother Everett Fisk of Minnesota and several nieces and nephews. Edith was predeceased by two brothers Clyde Fisk and Maynard Fisk; one grandson Harley Mason III; one step-daughter Jeannie Turner and one step-grandson Christopher Turner. There will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, March 25th at 1:00 pm in the Northumberland Cemetery with Pastor Aaron Cox of the Groveton United Methodist Church officiating. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of the Armstrong-Charron Funeral Home in Groveton.
