GROVETON EDNA LOUISE (HAPGOOD) CLARK, 85, of Pt. Pleasant, New Jersey died peacefully October 26, 2005 after lengthy illness. Born August 26, 1920 in Stratford Hollow, New Hampshire a daughter Edward and Hazel (Bennett) Hapgood, she resided in the area until she was 39 years old when she moved to New Jersey were she worked for 23 years for the Irvington Board of Education, retiring in 1985. Before moving to N.J. she worked in the Groveton Paper Mill in the office. She was a member of the Eastern Star and the Groveton United Methodist Church her whole life. She is survived by her daughter Sharon (Macloon) and husband Anthony Avrutine of Center Harbor, NH; son George Edward and wife Joanne Clark of Pt. Pleasant, N.J. and three granddaughters, Amy, Amanda, and Alison Clark. She will be missed by all whom know her. Memorial Services will be held and Saturday November 5th at 11:00 AM at the Groveton United Methodist Church; 46 Church Street, Groveton; with Rev. Sherry O'bara, pastor officiating. She will be buried alongside her parents in the Center Stratford Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Armstrong-Charron Funeral Home; 100 State Street; Groveton.
