ELAINE (MARSHALL) BORST, 87, of Marshall Road in Bloomfield died peacefully Friday, September 7, 2012 in the home where she was born on July 28, 1925 a daughter of Robert Sabin and Ethel E. (Barnett) Marshall. She was a lifelong resident of Bloomfield. Elaine was a Daughter of the American Revolution. She was a graduate of the Stratford Public School class of 1943; she graduated from Northampton Commercial College in 1945. She was an active member of the Stratford Baptist Church and the church service league. Elaine loved the outdoors and taking care of her home. Before retiring in 2008 at the young age of 82; she worked for 42 years as the secretary at the Stratford Public School. Elaine is survived by her three daughters Carol Gammon of York Beach, Maine; Barbara Richey of Westfield, New Jersey; and Lori Doyle and husband Bill of Worcester, Mass.; seven grandchildren Joshua Gammon; Timothy Gammon; Billy Gammon; Melissa Richey; Colin Doyle; Alanna Doyle; Liam Doyle; four great-grandchildren; one sister Marilyn Foster of Naugatuck, CT and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; a daughter Joan Borst in June of 1962; two brothers Everett Marshall and Francis Marshall. Calling hours will be held on Friday, September 14, 2012 from 4-8 pm at the Armstrong-Charron Funeral Home in Groveton. Funeral service will be on Saturday, September 15, 2012 at 10:00 am at the Stratford Baptist Church, with Rev. Cindy Grassi, pastor officiating.
