ELEANOR MAY "ELLIE" (BLAY) LANGLEY, 87, of Grandview Drive; Groveton has gone to be with Jesus after a lengthy illness. Born on June 22, 1922 in Groveton, NH a daughter of Albert and Alice (Bailey) Blay, she was a lifetime resident of Groveton until her passing on November 15, 2009. Ellie married George "Pop" Langley, Jr. on April 12, 1941 and they owned and operated Langley's General Insurance for thirty-five years until selling it to G.M. Stevens Insurance. She worked for G.M. Stevens for several more years until retirement. She was a member of the Groveton United Methodist Church; an honorary member of the United Women's Club; and was a past president and treasurer of the United Methodist Women's Group. She loved to travel and had traveled the world. Ellie's greatest joy was her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was always generous, warm hearted and ready for a smile. She is survived by her daughter Carol Ann Lavigne and her son Dennis Langley both of Groveton; three grandchildren; Carla, Stephanie and John and two great-granddaughters Ashley and Jessica; along with one sister Shirley Ann Cormin of Ormond Beach, FL and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Ellie was predeceased by her parents Albert Blay and Alice Inman; her husband of 63 years George "Pop" Langley, Jr. on Dec. 31, 2004; her son George "Andy" Langley III in 2006 and one brother Royal Blay. At Eleanor's request there will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be held under the care of Armstrong-Charron Funeral Home; on Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at 1:30 pm in the Northumberland Cemetery, with Rev. Aaron Cox of the Groveton United Methodist Church officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Groveton United Methodist Church; 46 Church Street; Groveton, NH 03582.
