ELMER WILLIAM CHARLES TREAMER, 96, formerly of Second Street Groveton, died peacefully Saturday, May 13, 2006 at Week's Medical Center, Lancaster after a brief illness. Born April 13, 1910 in Island Brook, Quebec a son of Matthew Charles and Susanna Isabella (Matthews) Treamer, he was a resident of Groveton most of his life until moving to Country Village Genesis Elder Care in Lancaster in 2005. Elmer was a veteran of the United States Army serving during WWII. Before retiring he worked for Diamond International Papers. He was a member of the Groveton United Methodist Church. Elmer worked the Senior meals in Groveton for many years. He was one of the founders of the Cans For Kids in Groveton. He used to do auctions with Fred Jewett and enjoyed collecting odds and ends and enjoyed playing cards. Elmer is survived by his wife Joyce of Lancaster; two sons Matthew and Kathy Treamer of Lancaster and Walter and Candie Treamer of Groveton; his daughter Kathy and Andy Champagne of Groveton; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren. He was predeceased by two grandsons Jason Treamer in 1998 and Joshua Allin in 2001 and his brother Everett Treamer in 2005. Memorial calling hours will be held on Monday May 22nd from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at the Armstrong-Charron Funeral Home, Groveton. Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, May 23rd at 3:00 pm at the funeral home with the Rev. Sherry O'Bara, pastor of the Groveton and Stark United Methodist Churches, officiating.
