Obituary

ERNEST WELMAN JOHNSON, 79 of Northside Road, Stark, passed away on Sunday, August 16, 2009 at Lakes Region General Hospital, Laconia, after complications from Alzheimers. Born October 23, 1929 in West Lebanon, Maine a son of Carl and Florence (Elliott) Johnson he was a resident of the Groveton and Stark area most of his life. Ernest worked as a Self Employed Carpenter and Handyman. He was a member of the Methodist faith. He was a graduate of Rochester High School Class of 1946 and a U.S. Army Veteran stationed in Germany. Ernest is survived by his loving wife of 35 years Dorothy L. (Meacham) Johnson of Stark; his three children Kevin Johnson of Milton Mills, NH, James Johnson and wife Mary of Springvail, ME and Tammy Johnson of Sanford, ME; stepson and daughter in law Larry and Rebecca Nason who cared for him in his later years; two stepchildren Shirley McMurray and Evelyn Bevens and husband John; brother Richard Johnson and his wife Anna of Milton, NH; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren; a dear niece Nancy Robinson and husband Maurice of Groveton, NH; and many other nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son Shawn Johnson and two brothers Roland and Leonard Johnson. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, August 19, 2009 from 6pm-9pm at the Armstrong-Charron Funeral Home in Groveton with the funeral service and burial on Monday, August 24, 2009 at 11:00 am at the Northumberland Cemetery.
