EUGENE PETER "PA" CLOUTIER, 88, of Main Street Groveton, died peacefully Thursday, March 22, 2012 at Weeks Memorial Hospital in Lancaster with his children by his side. Born March 15, 1924 in Berlin, NH a son of Victor and Adrienne (Roy) Cloutier, Gene was a lifelong resident of Groveton. Adrienne died when Gene was a very young child and he was raised by his father and step-mother Alice Cloutier. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving during WWII. He was a graduate of Groveton High School, class of 1942. Before retiring Gene worked as a papermaker and in the shipping department for many years at Groveton Papers. He enjoyed Hunting, fishing, the mountains, nature and feeding the wildlife. Gene was always seen riding around the North Country in his silver "speedsta". Gene is survived by his children Eugene "Danny" Cloutier and wife Jane of Augusta, ME; William "Skeeter" Cloutier of Groveton; David Cloutier and wife Brenda of Concord, NH; Michael "Clooch" Cloutier and wife Tahnya of Groveton; Carol-Ann Montgomery of Littleton; Dennis Cloutier of Littleton; and Ann Marie Cloutier and fiancée Rob Howard of Randolph; 15 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. He is also survived by one sister, Helen Rice and husband Paul of Wells, ME; one Uncle Lorenzo Cloutier and wife Madeleine of Groveton and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents; one sister, Rita Robertson; one brother, Donald Cloutier; his first wife "Hattie" Cloutier and his second wife Eva Cloutier. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, March 25 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm with military services at 7:15 pm at the Armstrong-Charron Funeral Home in Groveton. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 26 at 11:00 am at the funeral home with Fr. Daniel Deveau, pastor of the St. Francis Xavier Church in Groveton officiating. Inurnment with military honors will be held on May 19 at 11:00 am in the St. Francis Cemetery, Brown Road, Groveton.
