EVELYN MARIE (DONOVAN) GAGNON, 94, of First St., Groveton, died peacefully on Saturday, October 9, 2021, at Country-Village Genesis Elder Care Center in Lancaster.
Evelyn was born on May 10, 1927, in Groveton, NH the daughter of Edgar Donovan and Eleanor (Beliveau) Donovan. She lived in Norton, VT as a small child and moved back to Groveton. She attended school in Norton and Groveton.
Evelyn married Florent "Bib" Gagnon August 19, 1945.
Over the years, Evelyn worked at Campbell Stationary; Robert's Shoe Factory; and Ames Department Store.
She was a member of the St. Francis Xavier Church in Groveton.
Evelyn enjoyed working with plastic crafts canvas; her flowers; going shopping; doing cross word puzzles; reading books; watching TV; movies; and putting together puzzles.
Evelyn is survived by her four children Alan "Moose" Gagnon; Carole Achilles and husband Norman; and Gail Singer all of Groveton; and Paul Gagnon and partner Chary Clark of Colebrook; six grandchildren Patty Hodgdon; Cindy Hagen; Scott Achilles; Heather Singer; Ronnie Singer, Jr.; and Wendy Osgood; eleven great-grandchildren; her sister Arlene Theriault of Groveton; many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her father and step-mother Edgar and Leta Donovan; mother and step-father Eleanor and Elmer Gravelin;; husband of 54 years "Bib" Gagnon on September 12, 1999; daughter Ann Osgood in 2009; son-in-law Glen Osgood in 2018; daughter-in-law Janice Gagnon in 2002; son-in-law Ronnie Singer, Sr. in 2002; granddaughter Crystal Osgood in 2021; two brothers Tony Donovan in 1999; and Albert Gravelin in 2018.
Memorial calling hours will be held Thursday, October 14, 2021, from 6-8pm at the Armstrong-Charron Funeral Home in Groveton. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, October 15, 2021, at 11:00 am at the St. Francis Xavier Church in Groveton with Fr. Daniel Deveau, pastor, officiating. Inurnment will follow in the Northumberland Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Evelyn's name to the Norris Cotton Cancer Center; One Medical Way Dr.; Lebanon, NH 03756.
