EVELYN FLORENCE (MILLER) MURPHY, 98, of Country Village Road in Lancaster, died peacefully on August 16, 2013 at Country Village-Genesis Elder Care Center after a lengthy illness with her loving family by her side. She was born in Berlin, NH on February 8, 1915 the daughter of the late: Jerome and Delia (Gagnon) Miller. Evelyn has been a resident of the Berlin/Gorham area most of her life until moving to Groveton in 1984 then to Lancaster in June of 2005. Before retiring she was a sales clerk working for JJ Newbury and Harrison's Ladies Shop. She enjoyed sewing; knitting; crocheting; needle point; poems; gardening and baking. She won many ribbons at both the Lancaster and Rochester Fairs. She is survived by her daughter Marilyn McKay of Rochester, NH; ten grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; thirteen great great-grandchildren and one sister Louise Lamontagne of Berlin and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband Lawrence Murphy in 1993; two daughters Colleen Murphy in 1942; Karen Cloutier in 2012; two grandsons Douglas McKay in 1993; Scott Cloutier in 2009; one sister Doris Ramsey; four brothers Norman; Robert; Raymond and Harold. At Evelyn's request there will be no calling hours. A private family service will be held at the convenience of the family in the Holy Family Cemetery in Gorham. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of the Armstrong-Charon Funeral Home in Groveton.
