Florence G. Tilton Executive Secretary & Long Time Groveton Resident Groveton, NH – Florence Gladys (Faulkenham) Tilton, 93, of Groveton, NH passed away at her home December 24, 2005 surrounded by her family. Florence was born on October 31, 1912 in Crystal, NH, the daughter of Harold Faulkenham and Hattie Bell (Leighton) Faulkenham. Florence attended school in Crystal and graduated from Groveton High School in 1930. Florence married Edward C. Tilton on October 15, 1935. Her husband predeceased her on December 22, 1945. Her daughter, Pearl Tilton Emery, also predeceased her in 1998. During her life, she worked for several area businesses: Groveton Paper Company, FDIC, PSNH, Groveton Oil Company, Groveton Chamber of Commerce, and Northumberland Supervisory Union 58 from 1947-1982. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, gardening, and flowers. She was a good cook and enjoyed canning. Florence is survived by her sons, Channie H. Tilton and his wife, Amelia, Arnold R. Tilton, and Edward M. Tilton, all of Groveton, a sister, Phyllis Littlehale of Berlin, NH and a brother Reginald B. Faulkenham and his wife Evelyn, of Crystal, NH. Florence is also survived by five grandchildren: Shelly (Tilton) Philbrick and her husband Keith, of Holderness, NH, Brian Tilton and his wife Nora, of Grantham, NH, Stephen Tilton and his wife Brenda, of Groveton, NH, Michael Emery and his wife Cheryl, of Groveton, NH, and Kevin Emery. Her seven great-grand children include: Garrett, Conner, and Madison Rose Tilton of Grantham, NH, Stacy and Katie Emery of Whitefield, NH, Matthew and Tyler Burt of Groveton, NH, and several nieces and nephews.
