FRANCES JULIA (SULLIVAN) PEPAU , 92, of Percy Road, Stark, died December 22, 2022, at her daughter's home in Brighton, VT.
Frances was born on April 4, 1930, in Lost Nation (Northumberland), NH, a daughter to the late Frank and Estella (Floyd) Sullivan.
She was a graduate of Groveton High School, Class of 1948; she then attended Lyndon State Institute for two years graduating in 1950 with her teaching certificate;she taught at Stark School from 1968 to 1969 then was a substitute teacher for many years. She loved cooking and baking and made the best pies. She was well known for her blueberry cake and whoopie-pies.
Frances was an active member of the of the Stark United Methodist Church and treasurer for many years. She was a past member of the Stark Pew Owners Association and the Stark Improvement Committee. Frances was a member of the Pilot Grange in Stark until its closing then the North Stratford Grange for a total of over 50 years.
Frances is survived by her three children and their spouses; Deborah (Steven) Hartwell of Brighton, VT; John "Jack" (Ellen) Pepau, Jr. of Stark; and Joanne (Keith) Fournier of New Boston, NH; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband of 62 years John M. Pepau, Sr. on September 12, 2014; five siblings Donald; Floyd; Forrest; Paul; and Gladys Sullivan.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, December 27, 2022, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the Armstrong-Charron Funeral Home in Groveton. The funeral service will follow at 4:00 pm at the funeral home, with Pastor Eungil Cho, officiating. Burial will be Friday, May 19, 2023, at 1:00 pm in the Emerson Road Cemetery.
