FRANCIS "FRANK" EDWARD ROBY , 91, of Goulet Street in Groveton died peacefully at his home on Friday, November 30, 2018, with his loving family by his side.
Frank was born on April 15, 1927, in Piermont, NH a son of Hial Grant and Maribel (Davis) Roby. After the death of Frank's mother, he was raised by his foster parents George and Sadie Deline.
In his younger years he worked as a farmer; cutting wood; helped build a road on Bag Hill, and for Hoosier Engineering. He retired in 1989 from James River Corp after 37 years working in the wood room and shipping department. Frank was one of the first people interviewed for the book written by Jamie Sayen in 2017 "You Had a Job For Life" that was published about the mill in Groveton.
Frank's hobbies were; watching old Western movies; being a prankster; always having a joke to tell; flirting with the girls and visiting with everyone. He loved kids, especially his grandchildren.
Frank is survived by his wife of 69 years, Arlene Lorene (Emery) Roby of Groveton; their three sons, James Roby and wife Sun of Pahrump, NV; Ronald Roby and Scott Roby and wife Susan all of Groveton; four grandchildren Robert; Keith; Kaylin and Kyle; three great-grandchildren Mercedes; Alexander and Cera; nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his three siblings Durwood; Juanita and Herbert.
There will be no calling hours or services at this time. A Celebration of Frank's life will be held at a later date of which date and time will be posted. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Armstrong-Charron Funeral Home in Groveton.
