GARY ORIN PAQUETTE, 90, of the Summit by Morrison, died peacefully on Thursday, November 16, 2023, at his apartment with his loving family by his side, after a brief illness.

Gary was born at home in North Stratford on January 4, 1933, he was one of eleven children of the late Oral William and Anne Isabelle (Barden) Paquette.

Gary lived in North Stratford until 2015 when he and Beverly moved to Swanzey for six years before returning to Whitefield to live at the Summit in October of 2021.

Before retiring Gary worked for 45 as a paper-maker for the mills in Groveton, retiring from James River in 1995.

Gary was a past Selectman for the Town of North Stratford for many years, he was a member of and groomer for the Stratford Nighthawks Snowmobile Club and he was a member of the Colebrook Country Club where he loved to golf. In his younger years, he played basketball including in the town's men's league until in his thirties, and softball until his late forties. He was a basketball coach for the 3rd through 8th grade for eleven years.

Gary was an avid hunter, he never sat when hunting, he would track and if need be, run down the deer to shoot it. He and Beverly loved camping and spending time with family and friends. Gary loved watching sports and watched them right to the end.

He is survived by two children Debra Paquette of Laconia, Christopher and wife Josie Paquette of Groveton, one daughter-in-law Diane (Lietz) Paquette of Colchester, CT, five grandchildren Tabitha Paquette, Jason Paquette, Stephen Paquette, Derrick Paquette, and Carrie Couture, nine great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by three siblings Peter and his wife Carole Paquette, Judith Bunnell, and Mark and his wife Muriel Paquette, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Gary was predeceased by in addition to his parents, one son Jerry Paquette, his wife of 69 years Beverly (Gilman) Paquette, and seven siblings, Jacqueline Rayno, Duke Paquette, Ronald Paquette, Jolene Paquette, Lawrence Paquette, Nelson Paquette, and Barden Paquette.

Memorial Calling Hours will be held on Friday, December 8, 2023, at the Armstrong-Charron Funeral Home in Groveton, from 5:00 pm. To 8:00 pm. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 9, 2023, at the Stratford Baptist Church at 10:00 am with Fr. Timothy Brooks of the St. Paul's Episcopal Church officiating. Burial of Gary and Beverly will be June 1, 2024, at 11:00 am in the Baldwin Cemetery in North Stratford.
