GORDON LAURIER ROY, 96, of Northumberland, died peacefully on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at The Summit by Morrison, with his loving daughter and friends by his side.
Gordon was born on September 15, 1927, in Berlin, NH, he was one of five children of the late Herbert and Dorothy Z. (Hart) Roy.
Gordon was raised in Berlin, NH; he moved to Ohio in 1951 and returned to Northumberland in 1997. He was a veteran of the US Army, serving his country during the end of WWII.
Gordon was a multitalented man; he built and collected clocks; he was a master woodworker and was always creating projects for himself and thoroughly enjoyed assisting others in theirs. He loved to sing and listen to music and often said he was never without a song in his head. He was also known for his green thumb and took tremendous pride in his flowers, trees, and landscaped yard.
Gordon is survived by one daughter Susan Banning of Naples, FL, and one son Scott Roy of Collins, Ohio.
His four siblings Donald; Bruce; Delores; and Wally predeceased him.
Graveside service with Military honors will be held on September 16, 2024, at 11:00 am in the Milan Riverside Cemetery in Milan, NH, with Fr. Timothy Brooks officiating. Arrangements are entrusted to the Armstrong-Charron Funeral Home in Groveton.
