Gregory Clark Lamm, 79, of North Stratford, passed away on September 22, 2026, following a brief terminal illness. He was at home with his loved ones.

Gregory was born on February 14, 1947, in Brooklyn, New York, the eldest son of the late Heisner Nile and Claire Adelle (Perella) Lamm. He resided in Stratford for 16 years, moving from Buffalo, Wyoming. Since the 1960s, he spent periods of time in Stratford, when he, his father, and his brother Byron began rehabilitating their 1850s farmhouse. He felt a reverence for the mountains and nature, and finally realized his dream of living in northern New Hampshire full-time in his 60s.

Gregory earned his Master’s in Social Work from Pennsylvania State University, preparing him for a career as a clinician, therapist, and facilitator of systemic change to improve the lives of children and families. He was first called to social work as a Conscientious Objector when he was assigned community service at St. Francis Home for Boys in Philadelphia, PA. Throughout his long career, he developed the philosophy that families and communities, working together in tandem, can most effectively help individuals heal and cope with difficult life circumstances. Spirituality and neighborly love were at the root of his practice and recurring themes in his writing and reflections.

Gregory searched for God, only to be found. He was a profoundly fortunate man due to his family and friends and lifelong lessons in learning how to love. He lived in many different parts of the U.S., including Lincoln, Nebraska, and South Florida, and he enjoyed camping and being outdoors. He explored his curiosity about other religions and cultures, traveling to Mexico, Europe, India, China, Japan, and the Middle East. Among his many artistic and intellectual pursuits, Gregory acted in college and in local theater, and he was a self-taught musician and songwriter whose singing and guitar-playing enlivened many gatherings and campfires. In an upset against elite competitors, he claimed the title of WFA (World’s Foremost Authority), a notable achievement and riveting decision which remains hotly disputed.

Gregory is survived by his daughters, Sonya Costello of Sunrise, Florida, and Kirsta Lamm of Stratford; his grandchildren, Amber, Bryce, and Khalil; three great-grandchildren, Kailee, Gianna, and Carter; his siblings, Nyla Lamm of Laurel, New York, Byron Lamm and his wife, Janet, of Stratford, and Dawn Eskew and her husband, Mitch, of Stratford and New York; and his beloved nieces and nephews.

A mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, October 3rd at 11:00 am at Sacred Heart Church in Stratford, with Fr. Daniel Deveau officiating. Inurnment will follow the service in the Northumberland Cemetery in Groveton.
