HAZEL BEATRICE BEDELL , 83, of Paper Street, Groveton died peacefully on March 11, 2016 at her twin sister Helen's home in Stark after a lengthy illness with her family by her side.

Hazel was born in Groveton, NH on June 30, 1932 a daughter of Francis Hopps, Sr. and Blanche (Woods) Hopps and she has been a resident of Groveton and Stark her whole life.

Before retiring in 1985 she worked at the Campbell Paper Mill and as a tutor. She was a member of the Groveton United Methodist Church, past member of the Ladies of the Moose, the Stark Improvement Fund past treasurer, and the Methodist Church Woman.  She enjoyed making piece quilts; sewing; and knitting.  She knitted baby sweater sets for the Groveton Thrift Shop for years.

Hazel is survived by her three children John A. Bedell and wife Elaine of Littleton; Judith "Judy" Goudeau of Lewiston, ME; and Jo-Ann Bedell of Groveton; seven grandchildren, Terry Bedell and wife Gina of Groveton; Philip Bedell and wife Brandy of Fisher, WV; Robert Bedell and wife Megan of Manchester, NH; Jennifer Bedell of Barrington, NH; Angela Goudeau of Lewiston, ME; Wade Bedell of Groveton, NH; and Jim Findley of Twin Mountain along with several Great Grandchildren; six siblings, her twin sister Helen Hopps of Stark, NH; Jean Dingman of Jefferson, NH; Florence Dupuis of Groveton, NH; Linda Roy of North Stratford, NH; Roland Hopps of Arizona; and Janet Rocha of New York; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins and her dog Sparky.

She was predeceased by her husband John Harold Bedell; her parents and six siblings Gloria Alexander; Elwin Hopps; Bernard Hopps; Francis Hopps, Jr.; Norma Gadwah; and Harry Hopps.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, March 15, 2016 from 10:00 am to 12:00pm at the Armstrong-Charron Funeral Home in Groveton. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at 12:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be later in the spring in the Emerson Road Cemetery.
