IRENE ELIZABETH (PARADIS) BIGELOW, 94, formerly of Groveton, died peacefully on Monday, June 24, 2024, at the Havenwood Center in Concord where she had been a resident since October 2004, with her loving family by her side.

Irene was born on May 6, 1930, in Groveton, NH, the daughter of the late Henry and Jeannette (Bean) Paradis. Irene was a resident of Groveton until she moved to Concord in 2004.

Before retiring, she worked for many years as a paper finisher for James River Paper Corp. She was a member of the St. Francis Xavier Church of Groveton. She was also a life member of the Groveton American Legion Post #17 Auxiliary.

Irene was very active. She loved to garden, bowl, line dance, and pickleball and was a volunteer at Scoops Ice Cream. She also loved to make PB fudge for everyone.

Irene is survived by her three daughters, Linda and John Farrell of Concord; Gloria and Doug White of Groveton; and Betty Ann and Richard Wilson of Enfield; six grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter; one sister Connie Toussaint of Lancaster; and many nieces and nephews.

Irene was predeceased by her husband Ralph "Red" H. Bigelow on January 6, 2001; and her two brothers William "Bill" Paradis in 2007; and Robert "Bob" Paradis in 2000.

Graveside service will be held on Friday, June 28, 2024, at 1:00 pm in the Northumberland Cemetery, with Fr. Daniel Deveau of the St. Marguerite de'Youville Parish officiating. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of the Armstrong-Charron Funeral Home in Groveton.
