IRENE V. HILL, 69, died December 24, 2010 at the home of her sister Sue in Groveton, NH after a long battle with cancer. Born on April 4, 1941 in West Hartford, Vermont a daughter of Percy B. and Lizzie May (Carter) Mills, she lived most of her life in White River Junction, VT and West Lebanon, NH area. She was educated in the Hartford School System, Hartford, VT. Irene worked for many years as a waitress for the Four Aces Diner and Polka Dot Restaurant, both of White River Jct. before going to work for Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center as a dietitian. She loved playing Yat-zee and sewing. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Irene is survived by two sons Gordon Wright and Edward Wright both of White River Junction, VT; a daughter Kay Wright of Hartford, VT; two grandchildren Nicholas Wright of White River Jct, VT and Mandy Whitcomb of West Lebanon, NH; two great grandsons Weston Whitcomb and Taylor Whitcomb both of West Lebanon, NH; two sisters Sue Armstrong and husband Gordon of Groveton, NH and Middleburg, FL and Mary Labine and husband Richard of Middleburg, FL; two brothers Percy Mills Jr. and wife June of Lyndeborough, NH and Gerald Mills and wife Cheryl of Plainfield, NH; numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father in 1960; mother in 1994; an infant daughter; her husband Fred Wright; a brother Garnet Mills and three sisters Frieda Cooley; Fern Lusco; and Rita Hill At Irene's request there will be no calling hours or service at this time. A graveside service will be in the spring at the Post Mills Cemetery in Thetford, Vermont.
