JAMES DEAN McLAIN, SR. 64, of VT Route 102, died peacefully Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at his home after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Lancaster, NH on December 18, 1947 the son of Otto C. and Rosemond (Boucher) McLain. He graduated from Groveton High School in 1965. Before retiring he worked for many years as a truck driver for Pike Industries. James enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a 28 year member of the Benton Lodge # 88 F&AM. James was a great father and kept his sense of humor to the end. James is survived by his two sons James McLain, Jr. of Colebrook, NH and Jason McLain and wife Molly of Maidstone, VT; two grandchildren James McLain III and Jamie McLain. He was predeceased by his parents and a sister Margaret June Tatro. At James' request there will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be held on Friday May 4, 2012 at 12:00 noon at the Summer Street Cemetery in Lancaster, NH. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of the Armstrong-Charron Funeral Home in Groveton, NH.
