Obituary

JEANNE MARIE (FECTEAU) BUSHEY, 85, of Groveton died peacefully at her home with her family by her side on Wednesday, May 6, 2020, after a brief illness.
Jeanne was born in Sainte-Angès, Quebec, a daughter of the late John T. and Émilia (Perreault) Fecteau. A resident of Groveton since July 1960, she was a devoted wife, mother, and Mimi to her grandchildren. She was the "special" of special occasions with MWL (made with love) sprinkled throughout all she did for her family and in the community. Her kitchen was the center of her love where she made many wonderful meals, cookies, pies, and cakes that were enjoyed around her table by family and friends. Her nurturing way extended to her vegetable garden, flower beds, and raspberry patch which always produced a great bounty to be shared at harvest or in later months when opening her canned goods.
To her family, Jeanne was a superhero, and grit was her superpower. Her determination and ingenuity would find a way through any challenge; she could turn the ordinary into the extraordinary. When at her trusty sewing machine, she'd make a new outfit, one fit perfectly, or a favorite like new again. She was a role model to us all. Her legacy will continue through multiple generations.
Before moving to Groveton, Jeanne was a teacher in Canada; not one to be idle, she had various jobs throughout her life in Groveton as a seamstress, a cook at Weeks Medical Center, and provided eldercare in the community. Jeanne was a member of the St. Francis Xavier Church and Daughters of Isabella.
She is survived by her five children Stephen (Devon) Bushey of Waterford, CT; Judith Pope of Portsmouth, NH; Linda (Joseph) Cadorette of Thornton, NH; Thomas (Heather) Bushey of Stark, NH; and John (Sarah Swanson) Bushey of Blackhawk, CO; grandchildren Karena, Hadley, Shannon, Levi, Katherine, Benjamin, and Amelia; three siblings Émile Fecteau and Rachel Lachance both of Quebec City, and Armande Prévost of Montreal; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
She was predeceased by her parents; her husband Bernard on July 18, 1998; and her sister Louise Fecteau.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the North Country Home Health and Hospice Agency; 536 Cottage St.; Littleton, NH 03561.
